At NumberTwo ("we," "us," or "our"), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, display name, and profile photo when you create an account
- Pet Information: Pet names, species, breeds, birth dates, and profile photos
- Health Data: Digestive health scores, weight measurements, health events, tags, and notes you log
- Photos: Images you upload of your pet's stool or other health-related content
- Communications: Messages when you contact us for support
Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: GPS coordinates when you enable location features (optional)
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage Data: How you interact with the App, features used, and timestamps
2. Data Categories and Ownership
We distinguish between different types of data based on what they describe:
Pet Health Data
The following data describes your pet's health and is associated with the pet profile:
- Timestamps of health entries
- Health scores (binary and detailed)
- Tags (mucus, blood, foreign objects, color anomalies)
- Notes and observations about stool
- Photos of stool (original and AI-generated cartoons)
This data is analogous to medical records - it belongs to the pet profile, not to the individual who logged it.
User Personal Data
The following data is personal to you:
- Your account profile (email, display name, photo)
- Location coordinates captured when logging entries
- Attribution showing which entries you logged
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App and its features
- Store and display your pet's health records
- Generate health insights and trend analysis
- Enable sharing with pack members you authorize
- Send you important updates and notifications
- Improve the App and develop new features
- Respond to your support requests
- Ensure the security of your account
4. Location Data
Location data is optional and you control how it's used:
- Location Recording: You can enable or disable location recording for health entries
- Location Sharing: You choose who can see your location data:
- Only Me: Location is stored but visible only to you
- Pack: Visible to pack members you've invited
- Everyone: Visible on the public adventure map
You can change these settings at any time in the App.
Important: Location data is your personal data and reveals information about your physical whereabouts. It is always deleted when you delete your account, regardless of pet ownership status.
5. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Pack Members: Data you choose to share with invited supporters and followers
- With Co-Owners: Pet health data shared with other owners of the same pet
- Public Map: Location data if you enable public sharing
- Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate the App (e.g., cloud hosting, AI processing)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- We use secure cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services)
- Access to data is restricted and monitored
- We regularly review and update our security practices
While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
7. Photo Storage
Photos you upload are:
- Stored securely in the cloud
- Accessible only to you and authorized pack members/owners
- Optionally transformed into AI-generated cartoon illustrations
- Subject to retention policies based on pet ownership (see Section 8)
Original photos are not shared publicly. Only cartoon illustrations may be shared if you choose.
8. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, what happens depends on your ownership status:
If You Are the Sole Owner of a Pet
You must either transfer ownership to another user or delete the pet profile before deleting your account. This prevents orphaned pet records.
If Other Owners Exist (Shared Pets)
When you delete your account:
- Deleted: Your user profile and preferences
- Deleted: Your location data from all entries you logged
- Anonymized: Attribution on entries you logged (set to "Former member")
- Retained: Pet health data (timestamps, scores, notes, photos) remains accessible to other owners
Lawful Basis for Retention
Pet health data is retained under:
- Legitimate interests: Other owners have a legitimate interest in maintaining complete pet health history
- Contractual necessity: Users agree to shared ownership model in our Terms of Service
If You Are a Supporter or Follower
Same as shared ownership - your personal data is deleted, but pet health data you logged remains for owners.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have about you in the App
- Update: Correct or update your information
- Delete: Delete your account and personal data (subject to ownership rules above)
- Export: Request a copy of your data
- Opt-out: Disable location features or notifications
You can exercise these rights through the App settings or by contacting us.
What You Cannot Request
If other owners exist for a shared pet, you cannot request deletion of:
- Pet health records you logged (these belong to the pet profile)
- Photos of stool you captured (these are pet health data)
This ensures continuity of care for remaining pet caregivers.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
11. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
- Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure)
- Apple Sign In (authentication)
- AI services for cartoon generation and score suggestions
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services.
12. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Note: The right to erasure applies to your personal data (profile, location, attribution) but does not extend to pet health data when other owners exist, as this data is not personal data under GDPR - it describes the pet, not you.
